Slaven Bilic angered by Spanish agreement claims

Slaven Bilic strongly denies claims that Croatia would consider agreeing to play out a 2-2 draw with Spain.

Slaven Bilic has reacted angrily to claims that his Croatia side would consider playing out a 2-2 draw with Spain on Monday evening.

Recent reports have claimed that both nations would be happy with that result, which would see them both progress at the expense of Italy.

However, coach Bilic has revealed that he and his players have been insulted by such suggestions.

"I can guarantee that my players and I are men of sport," he told reporters. "We will never take such an option into consideration.

"To claim to the contrary is an insult to me, to my players and my country. We are Croatian and we are proud.

"We are athletes, parents and children. It's out of the question we would agree a result with Spain."

Croatia and Spain are currently locked together at the top of Group C with four points.
