Crystal Palace have reportedly made a £16m bid to sign Lille midfielder Ibrahim Amadou.
The 24-year-old, who can also play as a centre-back, has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs during the January transfer window, with West Ham United also understood to have lodged a bid for his services.
Sky Sports News reports that Palace's £16m approach consists of a £2m loan fee until the end of the season with an obligation to buy for £14m during the summer.
The Hammers are understood have made a similar offer of an initial £2m loan fee, although the extra £14m of their proposed deal is an option to buy, rather than an obligation.
Lille are reluctant to lose their captain on deadline day, though, and are holding out for a bid of £18m which would allow them to comply with Financial Fair Play rules.
