Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has given his support to Bolton's Adam Bogdan after scoring against him from a clearance.
Everton, who lost to the Trotters on the night, broke the deadlock after Howard's long clearance bounced over the Bolton keeper to put the hosts ahead in the second half. However, the American did not celebrate after scoring.
"I spoke to [Bogdan] just then and I let him know that I was feeling for him," Howard told Sky Sports News.
"It's not a nice place to be. I've been there before, a long, long time ago and that was why I didn't celebrate.
"I was delighted that we were in the lead and would hopefully go on to get three points, but it's not a nice feeling for a keeper, it's really awful actually."
Everton remain in the bottom half of the Premier League following the result, while Bolton move off the foot of the table above both Blackburn and Wigan.
