Jamie Vardy hopes Leicester City stars stay with Premier League champions

Jamie Vardy is hopeful that all of Leicester City's star players will snub summer transfers.

Jamie Vardy has urged Leicester City's star players to stay with the Premier League champions for the defence of their title.

The 29-year-old striker is one of many names, including Riyad Mahrez and N'Golo Kante, to be linked with summer transfers.

Vardy topped his tally up to 24 league goals by scoring twice in the Foxes' 3-1 win over Everton at the weekend, when they were officially crowned champions of England.

The forward has confirmed his intention to stay at the King Power Stadium, and he hopes that his teammates do the same.

"I've just won the league and I'll be playing in the Champions League next year - I'm happy here," Vardy told reporters during the launch of his V9 academy.

"There's going to be names thrown into the hat all summer, but with the group of lads that we've got - winning the league and we've got with Champions League football next year - you'd hope it would keep everyone together.

"Nothing's really been spoken about between the lads [regarding summer moves]. We've just been concentrating on each and every game, as they come."

Leicester's final game of the season is away to Chelsea this Sunday.
