Jamie Carragher urges Liverpool to sign Danny Ings over Saido Berahino

Jamie Carragher calls on former club Liverpool not to sign West Brom's Saido Berahino in the summer and consider going for Burnley's Danny Ings instead.

Jamie Carragher has urged former club Liverpool not to sign Saido Berahino in the summer and consider taking on Danny Ings instead.

Both strikers, who play for West Bromwich Albion and Burnley respectively, are said to be on the Reds' radar, with Brendan Rodgers reportedly eager to strengthen his attacking options.

Carragher told Sky Sports News: "I think Berahino has got a bit more class, he's a slightly better player. But if I were Liverpool I would try and get Danny Ings if they were deciding over the two.

"With Ings, the way he comes across and the way Berahino comes across, I might be totally wrong but you look at it and you think, would there be a problem with Berahino? Maybe an attitude problem?"

Berahino was disciplined by Baggies manager Tony Pulis this week after giving an unauthorised interview where he talked of "moving on to bigger things".
