Sinisa Mihajlovic: 'Draw with Udinese was a fair result'

Sampdoria manager Sinisa Mihajlovic says that he "couldn't have asked for more" from his players following their 1-1 draw with Udinese.

Sampdoria manager Sinisa Mihajlovic has admitted that his side's 2-2 draw with Sampdoria was a "fair result".

The Blucerchiati took an early lead when Pedro Obiang fired home, but two goals in four minutes from Alexandre Geijo and Danilo saw them go into the break trailing.

They managed to draw level on the hour mark through Manolo Gabbiadini's header, and Mihajlovic says that he can have no complaints about the final result.

"It was certainly better to win, but both teams played for the victory and not to avoid defeat, so the fans enjoyed themselves," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"We had a black-out in which we conceded two goals, were a little too stretched out after the break and I had to make some tactical adjustments. We were always in their half and had chances, but so did they with Geijo hitting the post.

"It was an entertaining match and I told the lads I couldn't have asked for more. The result was fair. We knew that we could struggle on set plays, as we are missing two centre-backs. Udinese did well, were smart and did what we have done to other teams in the past."

Sampdoria will return to league action after the Serie A winter break with a trip to Lazio on January 5.
