Sam Allardyce hopes Swansea City are tired

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce admits that he is keen to take advantage of Swansea City's Europa League exertions when his side visit South Wales on Sunday.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has admitted that he is keen to take advantage of Swansea City's Europa League exertions this weekend.

The Hammers have not played since last Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Manchester City, but Swansea were last in action on Thursday night when they drew 1-1 at home to Russian outfit Kuban Krasnodar.

Allardyce hopes that fatigue will play a part when his side visit the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.

"There's a chance it can, there's no doubt about that," he told reporters. "Having experienced the same situation myself when I was at Bolton the most difficult game to win was always the one after we'd played in Europe.

"Michael Laudrup did make a lot of changes, six changes to the side that beat Sunderland so we'll have to wait and see.

"If there is any advantage we might be able to take with a few of their players having a bit of fatigue then hopefully we can capitalise on that."

Swansea have played four post-Europa League Sunday fixtures this season, winning two and losing two.
