Diego Costa to face late fitness test?

Atletico Madrid could be without Diego Costa for tonight's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Barcelona.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has revealed that Diego Costa could miss tonight's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Barcelona.

The Spanish international was replaced in the latter stages of Atletico's 2-1 win over Athletic Bilbao at the weekend, but initial reports had claimed that it was purely a precaution.

"Having seen him at training I think it is going to be difficult for him to make it, but we will wait as there's still a long while to go yet," Simeone told TVE.

It is unclear what type of injury Costa has suffered, but it is understood that the forward failed to complete a training session on Monday morning.

Costa has scored 33 times in all competitions for Atletico this season.
