Crystal Palace announce Joe Ledley fractured his leg against Stoke City

Crystal Palace announce that Joe Ledley fractured his leg against Stoke City last weekend, ruling him out of the FA Cup final against Manchester United.

Crystal Palace have announced that midfielder Joe Ledley sustained a fractured leg against Stoke City last weekend.

On Wednesday morning, reports emerged that Ledley had suffered the injury during his side's 2-1 win at Selhurst Park, and the club's confirmation of the setback means that Ledley will miss the FA Cup final against Manchester United on May 21.

A club statement read: "The club can confirm that midfielder Joe Ledley sustained a leg injury in the game against Stoke City on Saturday, which saw him suffer a fracture of the fibula.

"He will be continually assessed over the next few weeks by the club's medical staff."

The injury will also prevent Ledley from representing Wales at the upcoming Euro 2016 finals, which get underway in France next month.

The news comes as a huge blow for the 29-year-old, who has featured regularly during Palace's run to the FA Cup final, while he has also made 62 appearances for his country since making his debut in 2005.
