Lazio confirm Marcelo Bielsa appointment

Lazio confirm the appointment of former Marseille and Argentina boss Marcelo Bielsa as their new manager.

Lazio have confirmed the appointment of Marcelo Bielsa as the club's new manager.

The 60-year-old Argentine has been without a job since leaving Marseille after just one game of the 2015-16 season.

He has been linked with the likes of West Ham United, Swansea City and Everton during his spell out of the game, but has now agreed a deal with Lazio and will sign his contract with the club this weekend.

"As revealed by news in the media today, SS Lazio announces that it has already deposited the contract of Marcelo Bielsa and his staff," read a statement on Lazio's website.

"The club also announces that, as per the communication received, the coach and his staff will be in Rome on Saturday July 9."

Bielsa spent six years in charge of the Argentina national side and has also managed in Chile, Mexico, Spain and France.
