Peter Schmeichel congratulates Leicester City on staying up

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel congratulates Leicester after the Foxes secure their place in the Premier League next season with a draw at Sunderland.

Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel has congratulated his son Kasper and the rest of the Leicester City squad after they retained their Premier League status.

The Foxes held Sunderland to a goalless draw on Saturday to secure their place in the division next term, and ex-United keeper Schmeichel said that he was delighted for Nigel Pearson's squad.

The Dane tweeted: "The great escape is a reality for @kschmeichel1 & @OfficialFOXES many congratulations. #PremierLeague again next season"

Pearson's men are now up to 14th in the Premier League table, having won six of their last eight games.
