Team News: Radamel Falcao starts on bench for Manchester United

Louis van Gaal decides to start deadline-day signing Radamel Falcao as a substitute for Manchester United's home clash with Queens Park Rangers this afternoon.

Radamel Falcao will start Manchester United's clash with Queens Park Rangers this afternoon as a substitute.

The Colombian striker joined the Red Devils on a season-long loan deal from Monaco on transfer deadline day, and some reports had suggested that he would be included in the starting lineup at Old Trafford.

However, captain Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie have retained their places up front, which means that Falcao will have to wait for his United debut.

Elsewhere, Daley Blind will make his first appearance for United as a wing-back, while Rafael da Silva has replaced Antonio Valencia on the right flank. Darren Fletcher has also dropped out of the team, with the fit again Ander Herrera replacing the Scot.

As for the visiting West Londoners, veteran centre-back Rio Ferdinand has been included against his former club, with new arrival Sandro being installed into the midfield.

Man United: De Gea; Evans, Rojo, Blackett; Rafael, Blind; Herrera, Mata, Di Maria; Rooney, Van Persie

QPR: Green; Hill, Ferdinand, Caulker, Isla; Sandro, Kranjcar, Fer; Phillips, Hoilett, Austin
