Kenny Jackett: Wolverhampton Wanderers in "good position"

Kenny Jackett is happy that his side's promotion chances are in their own hands after 30 games of the League One season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has said that the 2-0 win over Notts County on Saturday afternoon has put his side in a "good position" for promotion from League One.

Jackett believes that it was important for his team to continue winning games, but he has not yet set a points target for Wolves to achieve automatic promotion.

"After 30 games we have got 64 points and that is a very good total so far," Sky Sports News quotes Jackett as saying. "It puts us in a good position where in the last 16 games it is in our hands.

"We have to win a certain amount of games, it is hard to tell how many, but we are not necessarily playing catch-up with too many teams. We haven't got a 10-point gap and are looking for other teams to slip up. It is in our hands and up to us to continue our form and keep doing well.

"It would be nice if we could turn one of these wins into a more emphatic one in terms of the scoreline and that has to be our aim but the consistency of the side is very good at present."

Wolves are just two points behind league leaders Brentford.
