Gary Cahill has urged Chelsea to forget about last weekend's disappointing defeat to Newcastle United by going on another unbeaten run in the Premier League.
A run of 23 games unbeaten in all competitions came to an end at St James' Park, and Cahill believes that it is vital Jose Mourinho's side react to the loss by getting back to their best as soon as possible.
"It's important to go on another run because at the end of the season we want to be top of the league. You see how close City at this moment are to us. Even with that unbeaten run," the England defender told reporters.
"We think about that. How hard we worked to go on that unbeaten run and how well everyone spoke about we were playing yet we're three points in front with many games to go.
"That's why when the manager was playing down the unbeaten thing. It's so hard."
Chelsea return to action in the Premier League on Saturday when Hull City visit Stamford Bridge.
