Southampton full-back Ryan Bertrand has been called up by England for next week's friendly against Italy.

The 25-year-old was not included in manager Roy Hodgson's original squad, but due to a number of injuries he will make the trip to face the Azzurri in Turin next week.

However, James Milner and Leighton Baines have both been released and will play no part in the fixture.

Bertrand has won two caps for the Three Lions, with both of those appearances coming in 2012.
