James Milner hopeful of improving under Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool midfielder James Milner believes that he can still improve at the age of 29, and feels that Jurgen Klopp is the right manager to bring out his best football.

Liverpool midfielder James Milner has revealed that he hopes to further improve as a player under the management of Jurgen Klopp.

Milner joined the Reds in the summer from Manchester City and was a mainstay in the side under Brendan Rodgers, but continued to play in the middle of the park when the German replaced the 42-year-old.

The England midfielder is currently working his way back from a hamstring injury, but is confident that he when he returns to action he will be able to raise the level of his displays for the Merseysiders.

Milner told the club's official website: "You can always learn whether you are 16 or 17, or whether you are 35 or 29. That's football and the manager will still be learning himself.

"Obviously he has come in with his new ideas, new training methods and things like that, so it's great for me as much as it is the younger guys. Hopefully I can help those younger guys, but I'm still learning myself. Changing managers is always different and I'm still learning the way he wants to play.

"I've been fortunate to work under some great managers and he is another one of the top managers in the game. I can learn as much as I can and hopefully put that back into my game, as a team member and as an individual and improve."

Milner has made 14 appearances for Liverpool this season, scoring one goal.
