Manchester City confirm Philippe Sandler deal

Manchester City announce that they have signed Dutch youngster Phillippe Sandler from Eredivisie club PEC Zwolle.

Manchester City have revealed that they have signed PEC Zwolle youngster Philippe Sandler.

The Premier League champions have only made one first-team signing this summer, with Riyad Mahrez joining from Leicester City, but Sandler arrives at the Etihad Stadium with the potential to be involved in the upcoming campaign.

The 21-year-old has made his name as a centre-back, but City could use the Dutchman as backup in the holding-midfield role should they not make another addition over the next 10 days.

Sandler leaves Zwolle having made a total of 30 starts in the first team, with 22 starts coming in the Eredivisie last season.

The player has also represented the Netherlands at Under-20 level.
