Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has calmed rumours that he wants to join Paris Saint-Germain by insisting that his original comments were 'taken out of context'.
The Ivory Coast international was recently quoted as saying that it would be an "honour" to play for the French champions.
The remarks came shortly after he suggested he was unhappy that City failed to mark his 31st birthday, but the midfielder has now insisted that there is "nothing planned" in terms of a transfer.
"I want to take advantage of this opportunity to put things into context," Toure told RFI. "It's very important. I simply said that it was nice to be a player who is quite coveted, and it was an honour to play for PSG.
"The media took what I said out of context. For the moment, there's nothing planned. Too many things have been said, that annoyed me."
Toure's contract at the Etihad Stadium runs until 2017.
