Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp insists the club are ready to compete for the signing of Lille playmaker Eden Hazard.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that the club are ready to show their ambition by spending big on Eden Hazard.

The Lille playmaker has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs and has himself highlighted White Hart Lane as an ideal transfer destination.

Spurs are not thought to be the Belgian's only admirers, but despite this, Redknapp insists that they will compete with the big clubs for Hazard's signature.

"Hazard is a talented player with great ability. He can do special things. He is on our list. I watched him last year about three times and I have watched him a couple of times this year," said Redknapp.

"Manchester United and one or two others are in for him but I think Daniel [Levy] is ready to compete with them.

"If you want to be a top-four team you have got to do that. You have got to push on. The chairman is ambitious, we all are."

Hazard has stated his desire to leave Lille in the summer and is expected to cost any potential suitors £30m.
