So, after seven action-packed seasons in England, it appears that Carlos Tevez's time in the Premier League is coming to an end.
It is believed that Manchester City have decided to cash in on the Argentine, with Juventus thought to be extremely close to capturing his services.
While his stint on these shores has been filled with a number of negatives both on and off the pitch, it is worth remembering that while he was at each of his three clubs, he was a firm favourite with the supporters.
Forgetting the tantrums, the community service and several months on the golf course, below Sports Mole has picked out five of the moments that helped supporters fall for the 29-year-old.
Keeping West Ham United up, 2007
It's fair to say that without him, the Hammers would have been relegated in 2007. He scored important goals during the final few fixtures but none more so than the one that gave the Londoners a 1-0 win over Manchester United on the final day of the season. It ensured that West Ham stayed up and Sheffield United went down.
Scoring Champions League final penalty, 2008
Having moved to Old Trafford that summer, Tevez formed a lethal attacking trio with Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney. The three helped United win the league and also reach the Champions League final, which went all the way to penalties with Chelsea. Tevez went first for United and sent Petr Cech the wrong way. He would later get his hands on the trophy after Edwin van der Sar saved from Nicolas Anelka.
Winning the FA Cup, 2011
A hamstring injury looked as though it was going to rule Tevez out against Stoke City at Wembley, but he recovered just in time to spearhead Manchester City's attack. While he didn't have the best of games, the 1-0 victory meant that he had now won every competition that England had to offer.
Setting up winning goal on return, 2012
Everybody remembers the months that Tevez spent away from the Etihad Stadium following that clash with Roberto Mancini in Munich. As the 2012 title race got into 'squeaky bum time' though, the Italian coach needed his frontman to inspire the troops. He may have been carrying a few extra pounds, but Tevez was introduced off the bench against Chelsea and created the winning goal for Samir Nasri.
Winning the Premier League, 2012
Tevez may not have been among the scorers on that amazing afternoon as City stole the title from the grasp of their neighbours, but he featured for 75 minutes. What's more, his return, which started with the appearance against Chelsea, was seen as a major contributing factor to City's success.
