West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that the club are in negotiations with Blackburn Rovers over the capture of defender Martin Olsson.
Recent reports had claimed that the Championship outfit had rejected an offer, thought to be £2m, from the Hammers.
Despite the knockback, Allardyce has admitted that the club remain in the running to sign the Sweden international.
When asked if Blackburn are holding out for £7m for the defender, London 24 quotes Allardyce as saying: "I don't think that's true, no, but we have made an enquiry. Ongoing negotiations at the moment.
"I think that if I was strengthening anywhere at the moment it would be in the left back position because of our injury problems in that area. We are only looking at that position at the minute."
Olsson has been playing for the Blackburn first team since 2007.
