British duo Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins have been defeated in the first round of the men's Olympic doubles by Frenchmen Julien Benneteau and Richard Gasquet at Wimbledon.
The opening set looked to be heading towards a tie-break before Benneteau and Gasquet snatched a break to take it 7-5.
Fleming and Hutchins were more than a match for their more experienced opponents, but the French pairing found another break in the second to serve out the match 6-3.
They will now face either Indian seventh seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna or the Belarusian team of Max Mirnyi and Alexander Bury in the next round.
