Report: Paris Saint-Germain put off by Alexis Sanchez wage demands

Paris Saint-Germain drop their interest in Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez after the Chilean reportedly asked the Ligue 1 giants for wages of £500,000 a week.

Paris Saint-Germain have cooled their interest in Alexis Sanchez after the Arsenal forward demanded a salary of £500,000 per week, according to reports.

The Chile international's future at the Emirates Stadium remains unclear after turning down the offer of a new contract, leaving him with 12 months left to run on his current terms.

Sanchez was reportedly spotted in the French capital on Friday, prompting speculation suggesting that he was to discuss terms with the Ligue 1 side.

However, the Manchester Evening News has claimed that PSG were put off by the 28-year-old's wage demands, which are similar to Lionel Messi's basic salary at Barcelona.

The report goes on to speculate whether Sanchez is deliberately pricing himself out of move abroad in a bid to ensure that Arsenal accept Manchester City's £50m offer.

Bayern Munich also pulled out of the race to sign Sanchez earlier this summer, with club president Uli Hoeness citing the 'crazy money' it would take to land the forward.

Sanchez is due to return to Arsenal next week for pre-season training after being given an extended summer break on the back of his Confederations Cup exploits with Chile.
