Claudio Ranieri will not be sacked as the Monaco coach this summer, insists the club's sporting director Vadim Vasilyev.

AS Monaco sporting director Vadim Vasilyev has insisted that Claudio Ranieri will be kept on as the team's coach.

Reports in France in recent weeks have suggested that the Italian could be let go by the newly-promoted Ligue 1 outfit with Roberto Mancini linked with the job.

"We're very happy with this season, winning the title and getting back to Ligue 1," Vasilyev told Canal+. "We're going to continue with Claudio, who is doing very good work."

Ranieri was appointed the Monaco coach in May 2012.
