Former Leicester City defender Danny Simpson could be on the verge of a shock move to French side Amiens, according to a report.
The 32-year-old has been without a club since leaving the Foxes at the start of the summer, with a move to Scottish champions Celtic breaking down.
A Premier League title winner with Leicester, Simpson made just nine appearances for the club last season.
Now, however, The Sun reports that the right-back has a route back into top-level football with Amiens showing a strong interest in the former Manchester United man.
The club lost Emil Krafth to Newcastle United earlier this summer and are now considering paying the £30,000 a week that Simpson wants to make the move across the Channel.
Amiens, who finished 15th in Ligue 1 last season, lost 2-1 to Nantes last night to make it two defeats out of three to start this league campaign.
