A report claims that Daniel Sturridge may be offered a temporary route out of Liverpool by West Ham United, who are preparing a loan bid for the striker.

West Ham United will table a loan offer for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge before the January transfer window closes, according to a report.

The England international is surplus to requirements at Anfield and appears likely to move on, albeit temporarily, over the next six days.

Inter Milan were considered the strong favourites to sign the 28-year-old, while a number of other sides - Roma and Southampton among them - are also understood to have expressed an interest.

West Ham are now in the running to land Sturridge, however, with The Sun suggesting that David Moyes's transfer plans have altered considerably due to fitness concerns over Marko Arnautovic, Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho.

The report claims that West Ham chiefs will first seek assurances that Sturridge is not carrying any ongoing injury issues, before pushing ahead with a £5m loan bid.
