Ashley Young eager to impress Louis van Gaal

Manchester United winger Ashley Young reveals that he hopes to impress new manager Louis van Gaal after returning to full fitness.

Manchester United winger Ashley Young has revealed that he is eager to impress new manager Louis van Gaal this season.

The 29-year-old returned from a groin injury on Monday night, coming off the bench during the team's 2-2 draw at West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League.

After a stuttering start to the new campaign, Young now hopes to push on and make himself a key part of Van Gaal's plans at Old Trafford.

"I just want to play the best I can. The manager has shown faith in me and I want to go out there and play well," the England international told the Manchester Evening News.

"The injury was a setback. It's disappointing for any player to get injured but I'm back fit now and I'm only looking ahead. I'm not looking back."

United are back in action on Sunday when they host leaders Chelsea in the Premier League.
