Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino has denied that his club are on the verge of signing Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina.
On Saturday, it was reported that Lemina was travelling to England to undergo a medical with Southampton, who are said to have agreed a £16.2m fee with Juventus for the 23-year-old.
However, speaking after Southampton's 2-0 win over Sevilla on Saturday night, new Saints boss Pellegrino claimed that he 'does not know anything about' a move for the Gabon international.
"I don't know anything about him. We are studying the market with some options. It is difficult to bring in important players and hopefully some of them can come in to make us stronger," the Daily Echo quotes Pellegrino as saying.
Lemina joined Juve from Marseille in the summer of 2015, and the versatile midfielder made 29 appearances in all competitions for the Italian champions during the 2016-17 campaign.
