Roberto Martinez hails Jordi Gomez and the rest of Wigan's attackers after their late 3-2 win over Reading at the DW Stadium.

Roberto Martinez has applauded hat-trick hero Jordi Gomez for his performance in Wigan Athletic's 3-2 win over Reading this afternoon.

Gomez netted a perfect treble, including an injury-time winner, to snatch Wigan maximum points from an entertaining clash with the Royals.

"We all saw today what Jordi Gomez is all about. The crowd were quite vocal with him in the first half and other players would have tried to hide for the rest of the game," said Martinez.

"This is a game that will be remembered for a long time to come, it was a tremendous game of football to watch.

"In addition to the goal we scored we had another three clear-cut chances. Obviously defensively we're a bit disappointed with the goals we conceded, but we corrected that at the other end of the pitch."

The result moves Wigan up one place to 15th in the Premier League table.
