Sale Sharks fly-half Danny Cipriani has admitted that he has made "bad choices" which have affected his professional career.
The 26-year-old was highly touted in the early stages of his career, but injuries and off-the-field incidents held him back from reaching his full potential for club and country.
Cipriani also dated Kelly Brook and has admitted that the publicity brought on by that relationship caused further problems for him with the media.
He told the Daily Mail: "Sometimes I've made some bad choices, sometimes it is just how things are viewed, like relationships.
"I used to get photographed outside my house with my ex-girlfriend and people would say I was searching to be a celebrity but anybody who knows me will know that couldn't be further from the truth. I would never do Strictly!
"Some of the people I dated, the choices I made, got publicised which made it more difficult."
Cipriani has made eight caps for England since making his debut in 2008.
