Arsene Wenger defends "committed" Nacho Monreal

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger claims that Nacho Monreal does not get enough credit for his performances.

Arsenal manger Arsene Wenger has defended Nacho Monreal, claiming that the Spanish defender does not get enough credit.

Monreal has been forced to fill in at centre-back this season, and Wenger believes that the 28-year-old has been a stand-out performer for the Gunners.

"He is playing very well," Wenger is quoted as saying by London24. "He doesn't get enough credit because against Manchester United, against Dortmund, he was in the top three for me with the quality of his performance.

"Monreal is committed. He has an excellent mentality, excellent attitude, top class, I must say every day he is focused, doesn't talk too much and does his job.

"He wants to do well for the team. I think he enjoys it more and more and you could see against Dortmund that now he is starting to get into it."

Arseanl have made their worst start to a Premier League season under Arsene Wenger.
