Liverpool's Roberto Firmino 'to wear number 11 shirt, James Milner to take 7'

Liverpool's new signing Roberto Firmino will reportedly wear the number 11 shirt at Anfield, while James Milner has taken the seven shirt left vacant by Luis Suarez.

Liverpool's new signing Roberto Firmino has reportedly snapped up the number 11 shirt at Anfield after agreeing a five-year deal with the Premier League club.

The Brazilian, who will make his move from Hoffenheim complete when he undergoes a medical after the conclusion of the Copa America, was expected to be a contender for the iconic number seven shirt.

However, according to the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old wants to continue wearing 11 as that is his squad number for Brazil, while Milner has snapped up the seven shirt left vacant by Luis Suarez.

The England international reportedly asked Liverpool for the number as he wore it for five years during his time at Manchester City.

The 29-year-old will finalise his move to Anfield on July 1 after agreeing a free transfer.
