Liverpool, Everton want Adam Johnson?

Liverpool and Everton are reportedly preparing moves for Sunderland winger Adam Johnson.

Everton and Liverpool are reportedly ready to go head to head to sign Sunderland winger Adam Johnson.

Both clubs are said to be keen on the former Manchester City man, and are understood to be weighing up respective moves when the transfer window opens.

The Black Cats are willing to listen to offers for Johnson as they look to trim their wage budget for next season, according to The Express.

The Reds are looking to beef up their squad ahead of a campaign that includes Champions League football next term and have identified Johnson as someone who can add sufficient quality in the wide areas.

A potential deal could include Fabio Borini, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at the Stadium of Light last season, although the Toffees are also monitoring the situation.
