Sunderland 'renew interest in re-signing Fabio Borini'

Reports suggest that Sunderland are in talks to sign Liverpool striker Fabio Borini in a deal worth £8m.

Sunderland have reportedly renewed their interest in re-signing Liverpool striker Fabio Borini.

The Black Cats are in "ongoing" talks about recruiting the Italian in an £8m deal, according to the Daily Star.

Borini spent the 2013-14 season on loan at the Black Cats, but is reported to have rejected the chance to return to the club on a temporary deal.

Sunderland are said to face competition for his services on a permanent basis from Inter Milan and Lazio.
