West Ham United's Mauro Zarate: 'Arsenal were good, but we worked so hard'

Mauro Zarate says that West Ham United's work rate pushed them to victory over Arsenal on Sunday.

West Ham United forward Mauro Zarate has praised his team's work rate following their surprise victory over Arsenal on Sunday.

The 28-year-old scored the second goal in the Hammers' 2-0 win at the Emirates in their first game of the Premier League season.

"We are so happy, everyone - the chairmen, the staff, the players, the people, the fans," Zarate told West Ham TV. "It was a really hard match but we took three points, so we are so happy.

"I think my work was more important than my goal. We worked so hard, we ran and we kept the ball when we had to and we scored, and if you don't score you don't win the match. They played very well, but we worked so much."

Slaven Bilic's side will face Leicester City at Upton Park in their next game on Saturday.
