Gary Jones: 'Bradford has gone crazy over cup final'

Bradford City captain Gary Jones says that it's good to put the city back on the map, and claims that everyone has gone crazy during their League Cup run.

Bradford City captain Gary Jones has claimed that everything "has gone crazy" during the club's incredible run to the League Cup final.

They will take on Swansea City at Wembley Stadium today, having beaten Wigan Athletic, Arsenal and Aston Villa in previous rounds.

Jones, who only joined from Rochdale last summer, is happy to put the city back on the map.

"The plight of Bradford in the last few years, the administrations, the relegations, to reach a major cup final is quite incredible," Jones told The Telegraph. "It's gone mad, all the stock in the club shop's gone, all the tickets are sold, it's gone crazy.

"People come up to you and say it's the best thing that's happened to Bradford in years. It's quite humbling. It's great to put Bradford back on the map and for people to be talking about Bradford positively again.

"It was only a few years ago the club were in the Premier League. It has been nothing but down for the last few years, but this is a massive lift."

The final between Bradford and Swansea takes place at 4pm this afternoon.
