Charlton Athletic opened up a ten-point lead at the top of League One by defeating Stevenage 2-0 at the Valley.

Centre-back Michael Morrison and Bradley Wright-Phillips scored the goals after the break to give the Addicks maximum points.

Simon Grayson got his reign as manager of Huddersfield Town off to a winning start at home to Exeter City. Jordan Rhodes was among the goalscorer for the Terriers.

Mathias Kouo-Doumbe scored the only goal of the game as MK Dons claimed maximum points from their trip to Bournemouth, while Francois Zoko scored a late winner for Carlisle United against Yeovil.

Paul Hayes scored twice as Wycombe Wanderers struck five without reply against Hartlepool.
