Serie A club-by-club transfer latest: August 28

Sports Mole takes a look at the latest transfer news and speculation from Serie A.

The transfer window is due to slam shut next week and there is still plenty of business being done by clubs across Europe.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at the latest rumours from Italy and the deals that have already been completed this summer.

AC Milan

Following Mario Balotelli's exit from AC Milan earlier this week, the club's main priority is to bring in a new striker before the end of the transfer window.

Vice president Adriano Galliani has confirmed that they are interested in signing Fernando Torres from Chelsea, while Kostas Mitroglou and Roberto Soldado have also been linked with a switch to the San Siro.

Atalanta

Fiorentina winger Rafal Wolski has been linked with a move to Atalanta in recent days. The 21-year-old joined the Viola last January, but has struggled for first-team football and could be allowed to leave on loan.

Meanwhile, German Denis could be heading towards the exit door, with reports claiming that Juventus want the Argentine striker to bolster their forward line, with Alvaro Morata currently out injured.

Cagliari

There have been no recent arrivals at Cagliari, but Danilo Avelar and Victor Ibarbo have both extended their contracts with the club.

The Rossoblu are believed to be in the market for a striker to replace Mauricio Pinilla and they are thought to be planning a move for Torino frontman Marcelo Larrondo. Southampton goalkeeper Artur Boruc is also a rumoured target, after losing his starting place at the Saints to Fraser Forster.

Cesena

In the past week, Bologna midfielder Nico Pulzetti has completed a move to Cesena. The 30-year-old came through the youth ranks at the club and returns to the Serie A new boys after an 11-year absence.

Marco Borriello has still been strongly linked with a move to the club, but recent reports have claimed that Palermo are also in the hunt for the Roma striker.

Chievo

Inter Milan duo Ruben Botta and Ezequiel Schelotto have both joined Chievo on loan this week. The Argentines will spend the next season in Verona, with Schelotto's deal including the option of making the move permanent.

Genoa midfielder Isaac Cofie is reportedly on the verge of rejoining his former club on a season-long loan, while the Gialloblu are also believed to have entered the race to sign Juventus defender Marco Motta.

Fiorentina

Fiorentina defender Cristiano Piccini has joined Real Betis on loan this week and Facundo Roncaglia could also be leaving, with Genoa reportedly lining up a move for the Argentine.

It is believed that the Viola have made an offer to Shakhtar Donetsk for midfielder Fernando and that they are interested in signing Benjamin Stambouli, who has a year remaining on his contract with Montpellier,

Genoa

In the past week, Genoa have signed Argentine midfielder Franco Mussis on loan from Copenhagen. As mentioned, they are also believed to be closing in on the loan signing of Facundo Roncaglia.

The club have also been linked with a move for Lazio defender Abdoulay Konko. The Frenchman is widely expected to leave the Stadio Olimpico and had a previous spell at the Rossoblu seven seasons ago.

Hellas Verona

Brazilian midfielder Gustavo Campanharo has joined Hellas Verona on loan from Bragantino for the season. The 22-year-old has previously played for Fiorentina's youth team and if he impresses then the move could be made permanent.

Various reports have also claimed that the Gialloblu are closing in on the signings of Udinese striker Nico Lopez and Juventus defender Frederik Sorensen, while Alejandro Gomez could be set to join on loan from Metalist Kharkiv.

Inter Milan

It seems as though there will be more players leaving Inter Milan than joining the club in the final days of the transfer window. Following the loan exits of Ruben Botta and Ezequiel Schelotto to Chievo, Ricky Alvarez is reportedly in talks over a temporary switch to Sunderland.

There is still plenty of speculation concerning the futures of Fredy Guarin and Zdravko Kuzmanovic, while it is believed that the Nerazzurri have failed in an ambitious attempt to lure Napoli winger Lorenzo Insigne to the San Siro.

Juventus

Fans of Juventus will be hoping that they can hang on to Arturo Vidal before the window slams shut next week. Not a week has gone by this summer when the Chile international hasn't been linked with a move to Manchester United and reports today claim that the Italian champions have rejected a £34m bid from the Red Devils.

Elsewhere, it is believed that the Bianconeri have tabled a bid for Javier Hernandez, but Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski is unlikely to be moving to Turin, with Arsene Wenger claiming that he is not for sale.

Lazio

Lazio have wrapped up the much-expected signing of Santiago Gentiletti. The 29-year-old joins from Argentine outfit San Lorenzo, who claimed victory in the Copa Libertadores earlier this month.

Emiliano Alfaro and Valmir Berisha have joined Liverpool Montevideo and Panathinaikos respectively, while Geoff Cameron has emerged as a potential target of the club.

Napoli

Napoli are thought to be closing in on the capture of Espanyol midfielder David Lopez. The 24-year-old was a crucial player for his club last season and it is reported that a fee for his transfer has been reached.

Meanwhile, Sandro and Lucas Leiva continue to be linked with moves to the club and Alvaro Arbeloa could also be on his way to Naples, after reports emerged claiming that he wants to leave Real Madrid.

Palermo

It has been a busy week for Palermo, who have completed the signings of three new players. The most high profile of those arrivals has been Costa Rica international Giancarlo Gonzalez. The 26-year-old was a key factor in his country's run to the World Cup quarter-finals and has joined for a fee of $5m (£3m) from Columbus Crew.

Ivory Coast defender Souleymane Bamba has penned a three-year deal with the Rosanero. He was available on a free transfer after his contract expired at Trabzonspor. Brazilian full-back Emerson Palmieri has also joined the Serie A newcomers on a season-long loan from Santos.

Parma

No fewer than four players have joined Parma this week. Francesco Lodi has signed on loan for the season from Catania, Matija Sirok has completed a move from Nova Gorica and Lucas Souza has arrived from Olhanense.

They have also brought in full-back Andrea Costa from Sampdoria, in a swap deal that saw Marco Marchionni move in the opposite direction. Paolo De Ceglie could be arriving in the next week, with reports suggesting that the club are in talks with his club Juventus over a transfer.

Roma

Roma have been dealt a huge blow to their title chances with the departure of Mehdi Benatia. The Moroccan international was arguably the best defender in Serie A last season, but has completed a move to Bayern Munich.

However, the Giallorossi have moved quickly to sign a replacement, with Greek international Kostas Manolas joining from Olympiacos. Lille defender Marko Basa could also be about to join, with some reports claiming that a deal has already been agreed for his transfer.

Sampdoria

As previously mentioned, Marco Marchionni has joined Sampdoria in swap deal that saw Andrea Costa head to Parma. The club are also thought to be close to signing Matias Silvestre from Inter Milan.

In what could prove to be a busy week in transfer market for the Blucerchiati, Roma defender Alessio Romagnoli and Benfica forward Lisandro Lopez have both been heavily linked with moves to the club.

Torino

Torino fans will be desperately hoping that the club can keep hold of Alessio Cerci in the final days of transfer window. The 27-year-old has constantly been linked with a move away from the Granata this summer and it has been claimed that Arsenal are the latest club interested in his services.

There have been plenty of strikers linked with a move to Turin in recent days. Amauri, Dario Cvitanich and Duvan Zapata are just some of the names said to be wanted by the club if Cerci does leave.

Udinese

Reports this week have suggested that Udinese have turned down a bid from Milan for striker Luis Muriel, but Nico Lopez seems likely to depart the club, amid interest from Hellas Verona.

Meanwhile, Highly-rated youngster Panos Armenakas has completed a move from Watford and they could be set to swoop for Argentinos Juniors midfielder Gaspar Iniguez.
