Brendan Rodgers has three games to save Liverpool job?

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers reportedly has three games to save his job following the team's poor start to the season.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers reportedly needs to get results from his next three games in order to avoid getting sacked.

The Northern Irishman has been under increasing pressure following the Reds poor start to the season.

After winning their first two Premier League games, the club have recorded two draws and two defeats, one of which came against arch rivals Manchester United.

Rodgers's misery was compounded further when his side scraped past League Two outfit Carlisle United in the third round of the Capital One Cup at Anfield.

After reaching the end of extra time 1-1, a penalty shootout was needed to separate the two sides, with Liverpool edging it 3-2.

Over the last few days, reports have emerged claiming that Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group have held meetings to discuss the future of their manager, with some board members keen to dismiss him, while others want to keep the 42-year-old.

According to The Independent, results from Saturday's league match against Aston Villa, next week's Europa League tie with FC Sion and the following weekend's Merseyside derby will play a pivotal role in deciding Rodgers's future.

Liverpool, who have been linked with available managers Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti, have scored just four goals in six top-flight games.
