Roberto Mancini admits that Manchester City's chances of progressing to the Champions League last 16 are virtually "finished".

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has admitted that his side's chances of progressing to the knockout rounds of the Champions League are "finished".

The Premier League champions are currently at the foot of Group D with just two points from four matches following their 2-2 draw with Ajax at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.

"For now we are finished," the Italian is quoted as saying by the BBC when asked about his side's chances of qualification for the last 16.

"We have two more difficult games left, which we have to try and win."

City's next two matches are against Real Madrid at home on November 21 and against Borussia Dortmund away on December 4.
