Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell is close to becoming a Chelsea player in a possible record deal for a left-back, according to a report.

Chelsea are reportedly on the verge of signing Ben Chilwell after making a breakthrough in talks with Leicester City.

The Blues, who have already brought in Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech ahead of next season, have made signing Chilwell their top defensive priority.

Following weeks of talks with tough negotiators Leicester, The Times claims that a price has finally been agreed between the clubs.

The report indicates that Chelsea may have to hand over a record sum for a left-back to get the deal over the line.

England international Chilwell has spent four seasons in Leicester's first team, making 120 appearances since the start of 2016-17.

Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old defender.
