Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred indicates that he will wait until after Brazil's World Cup campaign before deciding whether to join Manchester United.

Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred has revealed that he will wait until after the World Cup before making a decision over his future.

The 25-year-old, currently on international duty with Brazil, is understood to have already opened talks with Manchester United over a £53m switch this summer.

Fred will now have the final say on his next career move, but the former Internacional ace - who will be in Britain next week as part of Brazil's World Cup preparations - intends to take some time to deliberate.

Asked at a press conference on Thursday when a decision will be made, Fred told reporters: "Maybe after the World Cup I will make the choice. Now, I am only thinking about the World Cup."

Fred, also linked with a move to Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, has spent the last five years in Europe with Shakhtar.
