Report: Carlos Puyol to miss final La Liga Clasico

Carlos Puyol is expected to miss Barcelona's La Liga clash with Real Madrid at the weekend.

Barcelona defender Carlos Puyol will reportedly be sidelined for Sunday's trip to Real Madrid.

The 35-year-old, who will depart the Camp Nou on a free transfer in the summer, has continually struggled to overcome a knee injury this season.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Spaniard has been training with the Catalan outfit this week, but will not be fit for the La Liga clash at the Bernabeu.

As a result, Puyol has played his last league game against Los Blancos during an illustrious career in Spain.

However, Barcelona face Madrid in the final of the Copa del Rey next month and could also meet their rivals in the latter stages of the Champions League.
