Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his delight in striker Rickie Lambert's call-up to the England senior squad.
The 31-year-old was given the nod by Three Lions manager Roy Hodgson after he netted 15 Premier League goals last season.
"This call-up is the result of Rickie's hard work over the course of the four years he has spent at Saints," Pochettino told Southampton's Twitter account.
"This is something for the entire club to be proud of. The work we are doing is being recognised on a national level."
Unsettled Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney was also included in the squad to face Scotland next week, despite suffering from a minor shoulder injury.
