Ex-Arsenal director Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith reveals Stan Kroenke sale regrets

Ex-Arsenal shareholder Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith calls for sweeping changes at boardroom level that gives David Dein and Alisher Usmanov a say at the club.

Former Arsenal director Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith has called for wholesale changes at boardroom level in North London, while admitting regrets over selling her stake in the club to Stan Kroenke.

Bracewell-Smith struck a deal with Kroenke in April 2011, handing the American a 15% stake that allowed him to become Arsenal's majority shareholder.

The 57-year-old conceded that she has huge regrets over helping Kroenke take a controlling interest at the Emirates, while calling for Alisher Usmanov to be given a place on the board alongside a return for ex-vice chairman David Dein.

The current honorary vice-president of Arsenal tweeted: "And how deeply I regret selling to Kroenke.

"Bring David Dein and give Usmanov representation on the board if we are to have success going forward.

Kroenke has drawn criticism from Bracewell-Smith in the past, with the businesswoman insisting that he has "no passion" for Arsenal last year.

Her Twitter activity comes in the wake of Arsenal's first home defeat on the opening day in 20 years, a 3-1 loss to Aston Villa last weekend.
