Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted that defender Johan Djourou remains an important part of his team.

The 25-year-old centre-back has not started a Premier League game for the Gunners since April and was linked with a summer move out of the Emirates.

"I didn't let Djourou leave as I love him as a player, and he loves the club," Wenger is quoted as saying by The Sun.

Djourou has been with Arsenal since 2002.
