Fabio Capello backs Diego Simeone to help Fernando Torres

Russia manager Fabio Capello backs Fernando Torres to re-discover his best form at Atletico Madrid.

Experienced manager Fabio Capello believes that Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone will help Fernando Torres re-discover his best form in the Spanish capital.

On Monday, it was confirmed that Torres had returned to Atletico on a loan deal from AC Milan.

The Spaniard has struggled for goals since joining Chelsea from Liverpool in 2011, but Capello believes that the 30-year-old will come good at his hometown club.

"Torres has it all but he's lost his way a bit and is struggling to score goals," Capello told Marca.

"It's possible that now he doesn't have the same strength he had before, to take the ball and run at defences.

"He's lost the confidence he had at Liverpool and during his first spell with Atleti, but I think Simeone will make him come good. Torres has been a bit subdued but he's going to rediscover what he's lost thanks to Cholo."

Torres represented Atletico between 1995 and 2007.
