Report: Everton not in for Charlie Austin

Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin is reportedly not a transfer target of Everton manager Roberto Martinez.

Everton reportedly have no interest in signing Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin this summer.

Recent reports had suggested that Toffees manager Roberto Martinez was keen to bolster his attacking options by securing the services of the 25-year-old, who has been widely tipped to leave the relegated R's.

However, while Martinez does have plans to add a striker to his squad, he has no interest in Austin, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The report adds that as well as a new forward, Martinez is also eager to sign Tom Cleverley on a free transfer from Manchester United as well as a centre-back.

Meanwhile, 17-goal Austin is said to have been the subject of recent interest from Southampton and Newcastle United.
