Cesare Prandelli: "We can take on anyone"

Italy boss Cesare Prandelli is not worrying about who his side must face in the Euro 2012 quarter-finals.

Italy manager Cesare Prandelli does not mind who his side face in the quarter-finals of Euro 2012.

The Azzurri sealed their place in the last eight with a 2-0 win over the Republic of Ireland tonight.

As Group C runners-up, Italy will now face the winners of Group D - which could be England, France or co-hosts Ukraine - in Kiev on Sunday.

Speaking after his side's win over Ireland, Prandelli said: "It has been a very difficult match, we came up against a team that made us suffer.

"Today we knew that heart mattered more than quality. Tonight we created a lot, I hope it will be like this also in the next match.

"No difference to us [who we play]. We have already played Spain, who are reigning world and European champions. If we play well we can take on anyone."

Italy have only been crowned European champions once before, in 1968.
