Report: Manchester United to treble Thiago Alcantara's wages

Manchester United will offer Thiago £120,000-per-week wages in an attempt to convince him to leave Barcelona and move to Old Trafford, according to a report.

Manchester United will reportedly offer Thiago Alcantara three times what he is earning at Barcelona in an attempt to lure him to Old Trafford.

New Red Devils boss David Moyes has apparently made recruiting the Spanish starlet his priority in his first transfer window since taking charge of the Premier League champions.

Barca are prepared to sell the highly-rated 22-year-old for a fee of around £15m, but Thiago is believed to be reluctant to leave his boyhood club, despite his lack of regular first-team action.

The Metro understands that United will try to persuade the talented playmaker to switch La Liga for England by trebling his wages to £120,000 per week.

Thiago recently captained Spain's Under-21 team to victory in the European U21 championships.
